Facts about Turkiye
Türkiye, officially the Republic of Türkiye, is located mainly on Anatolia in Western Asia, with a portion in Southeast Europe. Türkiye is surrounded by 3 major seas: Black Sea in the north, Aegean in the west, and the Mediterranean in the south.
The capital is Ankara and the largest city is Istanbul. It’s total area is 302,455 square miles.
WORLD HERITAGE SITES
As of 2021, there are 19 World Heritage Sites in Türkiye.
The latest three inscriptions are Aphrodisias, which was added to the list in 2017, Göbekli Tepe added in 2018 and Arslantepe added in 2021.
